Non-Candy Easter Basket Ideas for Kids

March 27, 2019 By Audrey Raetzloff Leave a Comment

I don’t know about you, but I love the breaks between the extreme seasons (winter and summer). Spring and Fall are probably my favorite seasons. There’s just something about a change in temperature that gives you that feeling of a fresh, new start. With spring, comes Easter! I was born on Easter Sunday, so this holiday holds a special place in my heart.

Non-Candy Easter Basket Ideas for Kids(1)

While we don’t do the whole Easter Bunny thing at our house, I do make Easter baskets for my kids. I have a 7-year-old girl, and a 4-year-old boy. My mom is the master of celebrations and makes any occasion so fun; I learned a lot from her. To this day, she always put together such fun Easter baskets and Christmas stockings.

I want to celebrate holidays with my kids, but I also don’t want to bring random crap into my house either. So, when I put together Easter baskets, I like to focus on things that will get used up or be beneficial to my kids.

Many of these things are consumable and will eventually go away (sidewalk chalk, bubbles, water balloons) or can be kept in the garage so I know they won’t pile up on my counter.

I’m a book lady, so obviously I am going to use this opportunity to buy more books for my kids! A few of our Easter titles are already sold out for 2019, but here are some others that would be perfect!
