You know, those awesome children’s books – what the heck are they called? Usborne Books & More has been called many things. I’ve heard Uz-born, Oz-born, Us-born… How do I say it? I say Usborne (us-born) Books & More.
When did Usborne Books Start?
More than 30 years ago, Peter Usborne pioneered a new generation of books that prove that it is possible to create books that compete with the vast media that attracts children today. From activity books, to gripping fiction series, to internet-linked science and history encyclopedias, Usborne does books better. One of the reasons I joined Usborne Books & More as an independent consultant was because my kids were always gravitating toward these books over the 80,000 other ones on our shelves. They truly are the best.
What’s the “& More” Mean?
Many people say that Usborne’s books are for the mind, whereas Kane Miller books are for the heart. In 2008, Kane Miller Publishing became part of the Usborne family and provided numerous titles with heart. I find that the Kane Miller titles tend to be some of my very favorites!
How Do I Buy Them?
Usborne Books & More distributes books through thousands of independent consultants (just like me!) who sell directly to the consumer via home shows, direct sales, book fairs, and web sites. Don’t get me wrong – I love me some Amazon Prime, but there’s something unique and special about supporting another woman through her direct sales business. I buy skincare, clothing items, cleaning products, jewelry, gifts, and more from my fellow direct sales ladies!
Is it a Pyramid Scheme?
Well those are illegal, so no. Usborne Books & More is a direct sales company which means that instead of selling through stores, they sell primarily through independent consultants. By selling through consultants, I feel that customers get a better, more personalized shopping experience. I’ve never made friends with a Target employee, but I am not going out to happy hours with some ladies I’ve met through Usborne! Just like any company, as you increase the size of your team and your sales, you have opportunities for promotions and raises. It would kind of be silly if there wasn’t an incentive to do better, right?
I hope you learned a little some about Usborne Books & More today that you didn’t know before! Speaking of learning, we have books about just about anything you could ever imagine. Check out my bookstore to start learning today!
